Museum

In the History Museum we see Holden upset, upset becuase in a museum when you go there you see the dinosaur or the cave man exhibit. When you come back 5 maybe 10 years later nothing changes, nothing time goes on the exhibits never change but you do. Holden is afraid, afraid of growing up.

Main Idea

Lets talk about the Main idea about Catcher in the Rye, in Catcher we see Holden constantly calling other people phony. These people he talks about are not being realistic. We find out later though that there is more he is always changing. He went to the museum and he was sad becuase he went many years ago and he comes and back and nothing changed but he looks and himself but he has changed alot! I think some other things are that is is in a stage of adolescence Holden is an adolescent in search for an identity, maturity Holden is very immature, but believes that he is mature. Holden also seems to be a failure in the book constantly flunking out of schools.
